Photography Heading in a Different Direction

I can't believe I haven't posted in a month. I'm taking a break from the Scavenger Hunt to spend more time on improving my photography skills. (There are only so many hours in a day).  I have joined a local Photographer's Guild and I'm trying to learn as much as I can. This is a photo I took after taking an Architectural Photography workshop.  We learned about the importance of choosing your topic, identifying your reason for shooting it, choosing the right time to photograph it, composition, lighting, having the camera level and creating a theme or story to communicate to the viewer... and how to use "lens correction" in Photoshop.

I wanted to combine what I learned in the workshop with the Guild's monthly photo challenge....the theme was "drought".
